Reversing Burnout and Reclaiming Joy

Do you know the difference between stress and burnout? Many of us know what it’s like to feel stressed running a business such as an insurance agency. Burnout results over time from too much work and too much stress. With burnout, you start to feel like you really don’t care, dread going into work and even feel like you just don’t have the same passion as before.

So how can you prevent burnout or even reverse its effects? Consider why you are in the insurance industry. Consider what you can change about yourself or how your agency and how it operates. Consider the timeframe for implementing the changes you think are necessary.

Don’t forget to be self-aware of what you need, how you feel, and when you need those things. Don’t forget to make time for yourself during the day and during the year.

Don’t forget you don’t have to do this alone. Look for the support you need personally and professionally to run your agency. Remember to be patient with yourself and those who work with you.

Preventing and reversing burnout isn’t always as simple as thinking through these things, but it’s a good way to start as you work to reclaim the joy you once had running your agency.
